We are the Stories

February 1: We Are the Stories - Finding Jesus, Discovering Ourselves

Opening Reception

Friday, February 1

6:30-9:30pm

The Season of Lent has historically been a seaon of introspection. You are invited to journey in a process that will engage our minds as well as our senses to help us see the stories of Jesus from the ancient writings and traditions, as mirrors of what may be happening in the world around us and in our lives. As we come from a variety of religious and spiritual beliefs, this call is unique to each person. What would it be like to temporarily set aside any lens that use creeds, catechisms, and confessions to filter Jesus' life and experience these stories as though you were meeting them for the very first time? What would it be like to put any conventional wisdom and prior convictions aside for a bit and enter into these stories with a new openness?

The hopes of this show are:

- to explore the rich diversity of interpretation around a person whose relationship with the Divine influenced the course of history

- to engage in a process that will empower us to begin living those difficult questions we have about ourselves and our lives

- to awaken and give voice to our body's deep-seated wisdom through the arts

- to discover new ways to make life-affirming choices that can move us forward on our unique journeys to healing and wholeness.
